A·part Topic: Acceptance of Differences Grade Level: 6-9
Ana, Wendell, Zach, Jonathan, Sarah, and Isaiah are six very different teenagers thrown together because they attend the same middle school in the same mid-sized factory town. A Mexican girl is facing racial bigotry, an African-American boy is having difficulty forging a personal identity, and a chronically unpopular Caucasian boy is considering abandoning his only friend in the hopes of improving his social status. By seeing these stories brought to life on stage, your students will begin a dialogue that will help them explore their differences and identify their similarities as they share the emotionally charged years of middle school.
