Bullying Prevention Classes for Grades K-6

K-2: Synopsis
The land of Blatt is in an uproar.  Ever since the first act of bullying occurred in Blatt Elementary School ten years ago, bullying has been on the rise…And now the school is in danger of closing!  In a desperate attempt to save the school, the Empress has sent her two finest storytellers to the peaceful neighboring kingdom of Floam to tell the story of Blatt and to request help. 3-6: Synopsis

Standing up to bullying isn’t an easy task. CLIMB knows this, and that each child is different. They may not all be able to do things exactly the same way. In this 40-minute class, CLIMB uses games, role play, scenes, and discussions to help kids stand up to bullying in their own way. CLIMB’s new bullying prevention steps, ACT (Act calm, Change the subject, Take off safely) and SEW (Say stop, Engage in something else, Walk away), help students to feel more comfortable and confident when responding to bullying.

3-6: Educational Objectives

  1. To define bullying
  2. To explain the difference between bullying behavior and other instances of meanness or conflict
  3. To identify various types of bullying
  4. To present and demonstrate SEW Steps and ACT Steps for responding to bullying situations
  5. To encourage students to be kind to people who are bullied
