Synopsis
Maverick Max and Captain Cass are fearless space travelers and old friends; but when Cass introduces Max to his crew, the Zoom Patrol, Max shows that he has a few things to learn about making new friends. With the help of your students, Max learns that new friends should introduce themselves, share, and take turns.

Educational Objectives

To define friendship
To demonstrate how to introduce yourself by smiling, saying hello, and sharing your name
To show that inviting someone to play is an important part of being a good friend
To show that taking turns and sharing is important part of being a good friend
To demonstrate effective communication when angry

Friendship Classes for Grades 3-6

Synopsis
If a child has difficulty with friendships during her formative years, her self-image can sink and her/his performance in school may suffer. In this fun and thought-provoking class, students discover their similarities through a highly physical activity, watch a scene that demonstrates the negative consequences of cliques, and brainstorm, through role-play, how to resolve conflicts between friends.

To give students the opportunity to discover their common interests

To demonstrate the harmful emotional consequences of cliques and exclusion

To brainstorm the positive consequences of friendship and inclusion

To give students the opportunity to practice resolving conflicts between friends
