Self-Control Classes for Grades K-2
Synopsis When Joey attends his first day of school, he is disheartened to see that no one seems to like him much. The other kids get mad at him and no one wants to play with him at recess. Luckily, the experts students are there to help Joey have a better day tomorrow! In this interactive performance, students will help Joey (and themselves) to learn basic self-control like raising hands, following directions, and playing with others. In the end, Joey knows that he'll have a better day at school tomorrow - And your students will, too!
Educational Objectives
- To define "self-control" and teach students how to use it
- To practice self-control while sitting with a group
- To model and practice hand-raising instead of interrupting
- To brainstorm ways to remedy a loss of self-control
- To remind students of their best qualities

Self-Control Classes for Grades 3-6
Synopsis Stop. Think. What could happen? Is that what you want? In this class, students are challenged to think critically about why people lose their self-control and the negative consequences of doing so. Students participate in games, watch scenes, and ultimately role-play their own ideas in order to practice using self-control in common situations.

- To brainstorm common losses of self-control in their school
- To brainstorm and practice ways to avoid a loss of self-control
- To encourage students to worry about controlling their own actions and not the actions of those around them
